With several of the on tour down south after, a tour of the local gaming shops was in order. After viewing the lackluster stock found in the high street chains, we stumbled across the much more promising branch of Pink Planet Exchange, situated on Bristol's Gloucester Road.

Sadly as most classic gaming fanatics will be able to tell you, any supply of retro games are often found in the darkest and most inaccessible corner of a game shop, should you be lucky. Pink Planet Exchange, however, seems rather proud to be stocking titles of our gaming past, by devoting prominent glass cabinets and large amounts of shelving holding titles from the Master System to the Nintendo GameCube. Whilst there had clearly been several other retro collectors (or a potential RetroCollectee) who had nabbed the majority of standout titles available, there was still a decent selection on offer including the likes of the Final Fantasy games on the PlayStation 1 (including ) and even a range of titles.

But the biggest, although not visible, feature to Pink Planet Exchange was that it was being run by a fellow retro gamer. After bringing several titles to the counter to purchase, we were locked in a discussion about retro games which led to a long chat regarding several store employees being in a battle for rare Nintendo 64 games. Guided Video Tour of Pink Planet Exchange (Gloucester Road, Bristol) Should you live in the area or be passing by, we'd very much recommend checking into one of the three Pink Planet Exchange stores, with directions to each store being available on their website.
