Photoshop 7 Raw Plugin

'Sometimes I need to edit RAW files from my Nikon D50 -- I heard there was an old Adobe plug-in for manipulations with RAW -- first Camera RAW for Photoshop 7.0.1' Even if you could find someone who'll send it to you--yoit won't work with Nikon D50 NEF files. The problem is that each camera has itsown proprietary 'raw' coding and that fornewer cameras you'll need a contemporary 'RAW' processor programthat taakes that can handle that camera's coding scheme and the D50 was introduced well after Adobe stiopped updatign ACR for Photoshop 7. Update Smargo Firmware here. Currently ACR is available for Photoshop CS2 (ACR 3.7) and Photoshop CS3 (ACR 4.1) (ACR = Adobe Camera Raw). It doesn't have to come from Adobe however. There is Nikon Capture 4, Nikon Capture NX, Bibble Lite and Pro, Capture One, and a few others, as wel las Adobe Lightroom 1.1. These will all process your D50 NEFs and output in TIFF, JPEG extc.

Unless you are doign really heavy duty photo-processing you will probably be better off with Lightroom 1.1 or a current version of Photoshop Elements.
